This agency is authorized to collect this information to administer its established Housing Counselor Certification Exam pursuant to 12 USC 1701x and 24 CFR Part 214. The information submitted through www.HUDHousingCounselors.hud.gov will be used to certify Housing Counselors. The information collected will also be used to update the certified Housing Counselor database that HUD OHC staff uses to verify that HUD participating agencies employ HUD certified Housing Counselors. This information is mandatory.
The data will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Act of 1974 (5 U.S.C. 552a), the Freedom of Information Act (5 U.S.C. 552), and HUD privacy and information security requirements. HUD limits any personally identifiable information (PII) to what is necessary and restricts access to authorized personnel. This agency may not conduct or sponsor, and a person is not required to respond to, a collection of information unless the collection displays a valid OMB control number.
